Students desiring to attend a United Pentecostal Church International Bible College may apply for the Corliss T. Williams Bible College Scholarship if they are under 25 years of age on February 5, the application deadline.

The scholarship is available only to a female student who is an active member in good standing within their local UPCI church, section and district. Applicant must have received the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues and have been baptized in the name of Jesus.

Applicant must be single, never married and not have any children.

II. The Corliss T. Williams Bible College Scholarship makes available one scholarship for each academic year. The scholarship award is for the amount of $1000.

This scholarship is awarded to a student in the below listed category.

Category 1:  One scholarship awarded to a female student.

    III. Application Process:

    a. The application deadline is February 5. All application materials must be received in the Florida District Ladies Ministry Department office by 5:00 p.m. on February 5. Incomplete, late or faxed materials will not be considered.

Applications submitted at this time are designated for the academic year beginning the fall of that year. The completed application, essay, and reference forms are to be mailed to the Florida District Ladies Ministry Department at 5011 NW Gainesville Rd., Ocala, FL 34475-7205

    b. Reference forms and a pre-addressed, postage-paid envelope are to be given to all applicable persons. Applicant should make clear to the individual the importance of the February 5 deadline, and that the form must be submitted by mail. For an application to be considered, at least two references must be on file: a pastoral reference and either a scholastic or employer reference.

    IV. Grading Process:

All applications are evaluated against other applications submitted. Winner may apply their award to a United Pentecostal Church International Bible College of their choice. The level of the award will be $1000.

Applications will be graded by the Scholarship Committee. This committee consists of members of the Florida District Ladies Ministry Board. Each year their selections will be presented for final approval by the General Board of the Florida District at the annual District Conference in February. Upon that final approval, the applicants will be notified by mail of their winning status. The Florida Ladies Ministry Department will notify the Bible College of your choice.

In the event that no applicant is deemed worthy of the scholarship, the scholarship committee reserves the right to withhold awarding a scholarship in that category for that year.

    V. Distribution Process:

Scholarship monies will be paid directly to the Bible college at the beginning of the first semester. The first payment of the scholarship ($500) will be released upon notification by the college that the student is registered on campus as a full-time student, as defined by that institution. Additionally, the second semester payment ($500) will be released if the recipient has maintained a 3.00 GPA (4.00 scale) for the first semester. Should the recipient’s GPA fall below 3.00, funds will be withheld until the student presents written explanation to the Scholarship Committee. Upon review of the student’s explanation, the Scholarship Committee will determine whether or not to release second semester funds.

Since this scholarship is awarded to a particular student, any unused awards will not be released to alternate students. Also, awards not used during the designated academic year (the fall following the application deadline) will be forfeited.

Scholarships are awarded on a yearly basis. To apply for a renewal of support, the entire application process must be repeated for each year in which the student hopes to benefit from a scholarship.
